Title: Bellies Are Intoxicating (And Other WTFery from SecretKeeperGirl)

Stand up straight and pretend you’re going for it in worship, and extend your arms in the air to God. Is this exposing a lot of belly? Bellies are very intoxicating, and we need to save that for our husband!

Just... read it. It gets better. Also, I can't help associating these people with Peter Pettigrew.

From today's "Secret"

Quote
We need to make sure we know the truth of God's Word, or we can be easily tripped up by all the lies floating around us. Like, if you don't know the truth about the creation of the world in the book of Genesis, you might be tempted to believe it was made from a big explosion millions and millions of years ago.

When we're told to put on the belt of truth, the Bible is really telling us that we need to know the truth of God so that when times of battle come, we'll be ready to fight!

Wow, this is hillarious! And yet, incredibly depressing.

Can we finally cut out the middle man here and say that Christianity's run by a bunch of pedophiles?

Bellies ARE intoxicating, although I prefer them to be a little older.

So I guess bellies are the new alcohol.

Nah, marijuana. Bellies are the gateway drug to SEX.

And we all know that sex leads to dancing and holding hands.

Frankly,  I don't think SCG really thinks that most people are going to be sexually attracted to children.

This seems to be more of a way to make (their idea of) modest dress a habit before the girls grow up, as well as a response to the oversexualization of female clothing at younger and younger ages.

But the way they push religion into it is just so annoying.

And why just girls? I mean, it's worse for them, but it's still sexist to just state standards for them.

Once again, it's never 100% the fault of the rapist for the rape. They're never the one who simply decided they wanted to take something, by force. They were always "lured" in.

Rape existed when women wore full-cover, it exists in the no-skin at all Middle East, and it will continue as long as allowances are made for sexual predators.

I can’t say I ever found the belly “intoxicating,” whatever the age of the female.

I thought the function of the belly is to delay food's progress to your ass.

I'm also pretty sure that one shouldn't describe bellies as "intoxicating" to people who have "future cleavage."

These people may not be pedos, but they're still sick in the head in a different way.

Little girls need to save their "future cleavage" for their husbands because it "intoxicates" people?? (Ok, that's not exactly what it said, but you get the picture.) Intentional or not, that's either pedo apologia or general rape apologia, and it may just be me, but I'm leaning more toward the latter. What really gets to me about this is that I don't think they're fully aware of the fact they're at least implicitly excusing rape, and it's quite possible that some impressionable girl may read this, get raped in the future, and blame herself for "intoxicating" her rapist.

...or maybe I just read too much into things.

They actually said "future cleavage"? Oh, geez..

No, the impression I'm getting that it is wrong to incite lust within anyone, regardless if they are more inclined to rape- because where every sin gets you to hell, rape is no different than thinking about sex.

You know, I've seen pedophiles on Psych Forums (there's a section for them) refer to "future cleavage" as well.

So no, there's nothing wrong with getting pedo vibes from this.

Oh goodie.  More potential child molesters flocking to positions of religious authority.

*puts on his tin foil hat*

I wouldn't be surprised if this was some ploy to obfuscate their motivation and do something nasty, then guilt the girl into keeping quiet because "You seduced me with your belly, you should have known better, it's your fault."

It's never the rapists' fault for being a controlling psychopath. It's society and the seductive bellies and ankles of those around them. Duh!

It is rather odd that these people tend to think that everyone can be trusted with high powered assault rifles, yet it's literally not possible for any man to not turn into a sex crazed psychopath at the glimpse of more than a couple of square centimetres of uncovered female skin.

The creators of the site actually said this?

Not to my knowledge. It's why I said "these people tend to think". I was referring to neocon fundies in general, not this specific lot.

Well, it may not be intersecting. Pro-gun people are probably more libertarian, and pro-modestry people are more religious but they both vote republican. Not to my knowledge has a pro-gun person has talked about modesty in such a crazy way- and vice versa.

I know there exist various ideologies that follow one and not the other, but both anti gun control and religion-based rape apology tend to be core stances of typical fundie neocons, who happen to be at the very least the most vocal (if not numerous) group that subscribes to either of these views.

The Myth Of Men Not Being Hot probably plays into this.  There's a hilariously flawed idea that men are the only people who want sex, and women just sort of use sex appeal to get the babies that they really want instead.  So men are not attractive, and women are, because only men experience sexual attraction.

It's bullshit, but it's a surprisingly common subconscious idea.

I've actually seen someone state this openly, claiming that yaoi and such is really a fad, that women PRETEND to be attracted to men, but they're really not.

I'm pretty sure that there are some radfems who think that heterosexuality is not natural for "womyn" and that they are brainwashed into it by the patriarchy, and that they are actually supposed to be lesbians.

Ow, my ribs! it hurts to laugh!

One of my best friends, whom I proudly call my sister, has been into yaoi since she was 13.  And she's 27 now.  Yeah, really a fad, innit?

I'm still trying to figure out which situation not involving a time machine that future cleavage should ever come into consideration. Even then, it's still creepy.
