Should be noted that it was single digit temperatures for about two weeks straight here in Wisconsin. And yet no power outages. It's almost like the issue isn't the kind of power plants Texas has, but rather their failure to winterize them....
Hell, if Texas was hooked up to an interstate grid they could've just imported energy from states that produce an excess and give it away for a song, like California.
Of course, that would mean making their grid subject to federal regulation, which would mean having to winterize it, which would've mitigated much of what happened anyway.
