More proof that Christianity is true.
« on: October 01, 2018, 11:39:41 am »
Saint Joan of Arc said that she had visions from the Archangel Michael, Saint Margaret, and Saint Catherine of Alexandria instructing her to go help the French defeat the English in the Hundred Years War(which I am fine with since the English monarchs by that time were not the true legitimate monarchs). She led the French troops at the Siege of Orleans, and the French won a victory in the battle.

Prior to that, the English were close to winning because in 1420, the queen of France, Isabeau of Bavaria, signed the Treaty of Troyes, which granted the succession of the French throne to Henry V and his heirs instead of her son Charles. Orleans was one of the last cities still loyal to Charles.

And according to Wikipedia, "For generations, there had been prophecies in France which promised France would be saved by a virgin from the "borders of Lorraine" "who would work miracles" and "that France will be lost by a woman and shall thereafter be restored by a virgin".[25] The second prophecy predicating France would be "lost" by a woman was taken to refer to Isabeau's role in signing the Treaty of Troyes."

This shows that there were prophecies that were fulfilled, proving that Joan of Arc's visions telling her to help the French were true and that Christianity is true.

That’s how you respond? How to you explain the fact that Joan of Arc was foretold in prophecies about a savior of France?

Do military victories by Muslims who make prophecies prove Islam is true?

“We will win the battle” doesn’t count as prophecy because it is an easy thing to predict. The prophecy of Joan of Arc was very specific, saying that France would lost by a woman(referring to Isabeau and the Treaty of Troyes), and saved by a Virgin from the borders of Lorraine.

"Prophecies" are always broad enough to steer a container ship through and always declared to be spookily accurate after the fact, ones that spectacularly fail are always lampshaded by their proponents.

But the prophecies of Joan of Arc was not broad, and gave very specific details.

But Wikipedia does not say that those details were claimed after the prophecy was fulfilled, it says that they were there before the prophecy was fulfilled.

The prophecy was clear not vague. It said that France would be lost by a woman(referring to Isabeau) and restored by a Virgin. It is hard to fulfill such a prophecy because it required France being lost first and the savior to be a Virgin.

And recorded by medieval monks who themselves all believed in miracles and all that shite who would have no issues with gilding the lily when it came to their record-keeping. YAWNZ.

The Wikipedia article on the Maid of Lorraine prophecies shows proof that the prophecy was around before and during Joan’s time.

“Rehabilitation trial testimony also brought up the subject of such prophecies. Durand Laxart, Joan's uncle, who accompanied Joan on both of her journeys to Vaucouleurs, reported at the rehabilitation trial that Joan had told him: "Was it not said that France would be ruined through a woman and afterwards restored by a virgin?". Catherine Royer, with whom Joan stayed while at Vaucouleurs on her second visit in January and February 1429, also reported substantially the same thing.

In any case, it is known that such prophecies were widely known in France at around that time and that many in France among the supporters of the Dauphin identified Joan with the Maiden in the prophecies and this identification contributed to her popularity and following.”

It's also a documented fact that Hitler knew about the "prophecies" of Nostradamus and thought he was the fulfillment of several of them.

The prophecies of Nostradamus were more vague while the prophecies  of Joan of Arc were more specific.
