Some of you will be familiar with Nick Griffin, but for those who aren't he's a British 'politician' and leader of the British National Party (BNP). He's kicked up a fuss in the media in the last few years when his party won a couple of seats in the European elections and it emerged that minorities weren't allowed in the BNP. They're basically the new National Front and the political face of White Supremacists.
They've always been publicly Christian as part of their 'English heritage' and 'moral standards' (ie. no blacks allowed), but it turns out they may have been sipping more Jesus juice than was previously assumed.

After a gay couple won their case against a Christian couple who had tried to make them sleep in separate rooms at their B&B, Griffin tweeted the address of the gay men and promised that a 'British Justice team' would be coming to 'cause a bit of drama'
"So Messrs Black & Morgan, at [their address]. A British Justice team will come up to Huntington & give you a...
"...bit of drama by way of reminding you that an English couple's home is their castle. Say No to heterophobia!"

They were forced to allow minorities to join, but they jumped on the Sikh guy who wanted to join as soon as they heard of him as a 'look, some of my best friends are minorities' attempt.
Funnily enough there is actually very low level enthusiasm for the BNP in the Sikh community because of their anti-Islam stance, which older Sikhs sometimes share for historical reasons (many Sikhs have a proud family tradition of service in the British Indian colonial military against Islamic militias before and during the partition of Pakistan, itself a throwback to the times when Sikhs were persecuted by Islamists during their religion's infancy).

This comes just days after the BNP's other MEP Andrew Brons resigned from the party, so Griffin had to do something to deflect attention from the internal strife that is ripping the BNP, and indeed the entire British far right, apart.

This isn't all that surprising. I'm American, so my knowledge of British politics is admittedly quite limited, but I was under the impression that the BNP was pretty openly fascist. The political compass puts the BNP's ideology (http://politicalcompass.org/charts/uk2010.php) in pretty much the exact same place as Hitler's (http://politicalcompass.org/images/axeswithnames.gif).

I thought the BNP admitted Jews now? I know they have at least one Jewish member (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patricia_Richardson_%28politician%29).

In recent years certain factions in the British far right have been trying to play the Jewish population against Islam - this is most evident among the English Defence League, which curiously contains both hardline Zionists and Neo-Nazis among its core support. Obviously, this is not a universally popular strategy among the FR. Even more obviously, mainstream Jewish opinion isn't impressed by this either.

IIRC the ADL (Australian spin off the EDL) has been invited or have attended pro-Israel/anti-Palestine rallies.

I'm rather ashamed to say that I've met some very racist Jews in my lifetime who would probably gladly support the likes of the BNP, and even more ashamed that some of them are my family members.

Well, it's also a matter of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". It's not only Jews who think this way.
And I agree, there is plenty of what I guess you could call "casual racism" within the Jewish community.
