you mean she isn't on a permanent sugar high already?

... that being said, I'd really like a calm, relaxing slice of life episode around Pinkie, where she's just running Sugarcube Corner for the day.  It'd be a bottle episode, sure, but it'd be pleasant to have an episode with almost no conflict for once.

Unfortunately, conflict drives any plot, even slice of life plots.  Without one, you basically don't have a story to tell.

yeah, I know... still, it'd be nice.  Like the idea I had for a Celestia and Luna episode.  The sisters ditch the regalia and just go out to do things like shopping.

Just saw the new episode.

I'm more geeking out about the concept than the episode itself (though it was a good episode, IMO)

An homage to comic books in a show that's primarily aimed at girls.

In other words, they're acknowledging that girls have diverse interests and that they sometimes like things that are considered "traditionally" aimed at boys.

Also, many props to Twilight for not disparaging comic books because she reads "real books".  She treated comic books on the same level as other books (which may imply that she reads them herself?)

Mane-iac has a fucking great villain laugh, reminds me of Mark Hamill's Joker.

I get the impression that was intentional, what with the fact that Mane-iac's origin story was a reference to Joker's

And her purple body, green hair color scheme.

Rarity has been awesome so far this season. I thought she was great in this episode, even though she didn't have a major role.

So after you finish the quest, the book disappears? What a ripoff.
I'd be more sympathetic if people here didn't act like they knew what they were saying when they were saying something very much wrong.

Took a little longer than I thought for this to become a thing.

So, apparently Weird Al is actually making an appearance some time this series. I know everybody was begging it to happen after he tweeted those pony mash-up videos with his polka songs, I'm amazed it actually happened.

Hype train activated.

Did anyone else say/think "You're genre-savvy, Spike, THAT'S your superpower!"? Cuz I was practically shouting it at the screen, especially during Mane-iac's monologue.
