Religion and Philosophy / Re: Are there active members here?
« Last post by Sharon_at_home on November 28, 2021, 05:27:23 pm »
I just came back here because I was ill for a long time.  I'm better than I was when I left so that's encouraging. It doesn't look like anyone that I chatted with are around either.
like Bob J. , Pyro, and more of course. so I have been hanging in the forum they created for me back in 2017 (I think) hoping that someone would surprise me  there LOL
I am a Christian, though Apostolic rather that any of the larger religions. My husband and I have been members for 11 years, and are the only Caucasians in the church. the rest are all Jamaican-Canadians. I recommend Apostolic to anyone who is bored with church. I have found the beliefs and sermons  to be outstanding - which is why I joined the church.
I have a testimony about Faith that I've not put online yet, as I feel it is up to the Lord when I should post it and so that is what I am waiting for.  But one testimony is that I was not rained on for at least 5 years. lots more to that story, but it's already here somewhere in "conversations with Sharon_at_home".
I always enjoy discussions with Atheists, and my brother was Gnostic and I respected him very much so I actually talked to him about it ... oooo way too long to remember I think. He's been gone since 2010 - a couple of months after we joined the church, and a couple of months before we were baptized in the Apostolic church way of baptizing Adults and blessing children as Jesus did in the bible.

I never had a religion before I joined this church, although I went to a couple of other churches at times when I needed guidance. none of them ever 'fit' me until I went to this one. it felt like home to both of us, surprisingly as my husband had sworn off religions when he was old enough to remove himself from the Catholic Church, 50 odd years ago. I didn't know anything about Jesus or Salvation or anything but the commercial stuff around Christmas, so I've been learning a lot since I joined my church. actually, I was brought to the church. I met some of the members playing soccer and ended up taking photographs of them for about 8 or 9 years. It was the church that they went to that we joined.

So come and chat, anyone ! I miss it a lot. I'm not on for long times so don't worry if I don't get back quickly please!
everyone welcome!! heck everyone wanted hahaha

I'm kinda curious how you make the jump from  trinitarian gnosticism to Andro Adam, and what sort of chemical breakfast was involved. Please, continue.

It's not my fault if you can't maintain a coherent train of thought you cooked cracker.

My recommendation would be to stop hitting the glass barbeque and fucking animals before you kill them and stick to getting your meat from the supermarket.

Exactly what do you think Androgynous means?

The usual definition of a two natured, male and female god.

Quote
Also you were talking about Yahweh and not Adam. But now let me guess you are going to say that as 'Yahweh made Adam in his image' if Adam is androgynous so is Yahweh

Not bad, but don't try to talk for me.

I would have talked more of where the womb came from.

but frankly you were talking about a different topic.

You might have a tracking problem.

Also the fact that a woman was crafted out of Adam's rib does not make Adam androgynous,

Correct.

To think a God would need a man's rib to create is also rather stupid. Right?

That is why literalists have such a hard time doing apologetics.

Quote
nor parthenogenic, because it was not Adam giving birth but God crafting a being, as he crafted Adam out of the dust. In fact really wasn't it just more dust?

Don't know, don't care as that is not relavant.

Anyway the more you talk the more I suspect you are cooked.

Ok.

Go away and don't bother coming back.

"Faced with this scourge, for a very long time the Catholic Church's immediate reaction was to protect itself as an institution..."

Same as literally everywhere there are Catholic churches on Earth.

And they continue to see themselves as the arbiters of personal morality.

When they are sued they will ask their parishioners (that is the people they abused, their parents, their brothers, sisters and children) to pay the damages rather than use any of the enormous wealth they have hoarded.
