I think this whole "hijackiing of nerd culture" deal is a huge red herring. Fake nerds are annoying. Sexist nerds are fucked up. Using the former as an excuse to avoid dealing with the latter is stupid.

Is the whole fake nerd thing that bad.

Maybe nerd culture being popular will lead to less bullying of real nerds.

Or am I just being hopelessly naïve?
