I haven't had as many freezing problems with other games that I did with SR4. And after I installed I can't even be sure if it didn't freeze cause I installed it or because it was just naturally deciding to behave.

Playing Thief: Deadly Shadows again.  Aside from Garrett not having sleeves and some of the shopkeeps/fences being a tad...irritating, I fail to see why people bitched so much about this outside the occasional bug.  Ooooooh, its got loading zones!  Morrowind had 'em, too, yet people treat THAT like its the 2nd coming of fucking Christ.  Seriously, it works and it doesn't look half bad; and I like being able to finally see Garrett's bloody face!

Deadly Shadows was great, first Thief game I actually beat. The Cradle is certainly one of the best levels in any game, and definitely one of the scariest.

That's pretty much all I heard regarding it on the TTLG forums, aside from the occasional intelligent poster who admitted that, while flawed, it had its merits.  I kinda halfway hope that the new Thief pisses the lot of them off for NOT being either Thief I or II, which is pretty much inevitable, because I'd find their tears of impotent rage to be absolutely priceless.

Also, outside monsters and the undead, who kills in Thief?

Aye, same with me, my friend.  Don't get me wrong, the TTLG forums has its share of good people and witty folks, but so many people there like to come off as some kinda faux gaming intellectual or some shit.  Some of 'em treat playing anything other than I Wanna Be The Guy to be the hallmark of a casual gamer.  Oh yeah, I'm a casual gamer.  Ignoring the fact I've been gaming since I was 3 years-old, am authoring a Minecraft mod as we speak, and fully intend on becoming a game programmer/designer when I graduate from college.

I've been gaming and obsessed with gaming since I was 2.  Watching my mom play the original Legend of Zelda and memorizing and copying her actions.

I think it's reasonable for me to be arrogant enough to say that I know what gaming is like, and that these posers who have turned owning games into a measure of people's worth are simply nostalgia-obsessed buffoons (and coming from someone who is also a self-proclaimed nostalgia-obsessed buffoon, this should mean something) who are unable to adapt to new generations of gaming and instead pine for the old days where 75% of everything they complain about in modern day gaming was actually worse then.

The 25% being DLC which didn't really exist back then, namely because the method of distribution didn't exist back then.  If it could have, you can bet your sore ass that every company from Atari to Nintendo to Colecovision would have abused the hell out of it.

Now I'm torn between the price of the 2DS and the gimmick of the 3DS.

I like the 3D, I'll admit that, but not as much as I like to play games.
