Ha. I refer to this kind of argument as the 'Freddy Krueger defence'.
Freddy is a demon that haunts people's dreams, as such he has no power in the real world. Thus, he must get people to go to sleep so that he can kill them in his dream world rather than face them while they are awake.
Fundie logic doesn't work against rationality, so in order to get atheists to debate them they must force atheists to accept their dubious definitions of words. Once they have entered the Fundie dream world where faith is rationality, up is down and black is white the Fundies are free to shift the goalposts and perform all sorts of mental gymnastics in the knowledge that the atheist is in their semantic grip.
The solution is the same in both cases: Coffee, lots and lots of coffee.
