Shirley Temple has passed away. Who's having a Shirley Temple tonight?

She was actually a very interesting and kindly person off the set. Was a good ambassador. My mom met her at a charitable fund raiser in the '50's and they talked for 20 minutes. Mom said she was really intelligent, nice, and they had a conversation about sociology, psychiatry and about war orphans.

I wish more child stars turned out like that. Even back then, this was the exception to the rule.

I agree with both of you. Independent reports state that Shirley Temple was a darling off stage as she was onstage. More importantly, she was able to transition into adulthood without any problems that typically plague child actors. As an adult, she stayed as a well adjusted contributing member to the world.

Huh...I thought she had died sometime back in the '90s.

Yeah, that report was one of the earliest examples of internet based viral/troll rumors.

I had totally forgotten her.
