He's got the Democratic & Republican colors wrong
Not really. Those colours are pretty recent, only being associated with the parties since the 2000 election. The electoral map from that election was displayed so often that blue became associated with the Democratic Party and red with the Republican Party in the public consciousness. (Very funny when you consider that the people most rabidly anti-Communist are also Republicans.) Prior to that the networks assigned the two colours at random for each election.
True. Also, I knew that. I'm just wondering why the cartoonist didn't get the memo.
Maybe the cartoonist is making the point that the two parties are basically the same.
I guess "They're both the same & run by Snidely Whipstein". It was pretty obvious on the surface, anyway.
Now, about that mask one. Isn't anyone going to comment on the hilarity of the cartoonist's case of Hentai-based Critical Research Failure?
It really is quite funny, when you think about it. How the hell did he manage to make that mistake?
Maybe he's not into memes.....Then again, he did use that walrus-thing.
I do confess that the Japanese Manga guys in that comic did not
look blatantly Asian. That one guy could double as Superman.
Asian auto-mechanic who cruises public bathrooms or White Kryptonian super-hero who's faster than a speeding bullet?IT'S A PERV! IT'S A MAN! IT'S KUSO-MAAAAN!
(By perv, I mean he hangs out at public bathrooms and exposes himself to people to engage in scatty public bathroom sex).
....or maybe the cartoonist lives under a rock on Pluto.
Heck, as a kid, I assumed those Anime characters were white anyway. They had differing hair & eye colors and tended to have names like Mark, Jason, Chief Anderson, Rick Hunter, Keith, Lance, Jeff, Cliff, Ginger, etc. It was a different time. I was much younger and Asian cartoon characters were usually a weird olive color, black hair & slanty eyes. It never occurred to me later that those Anime characters were renamed and their round eyes & coloration were more a stylistic choice (emulating big-eyed Disney characters).
