That assumes that the human will attempt to run rather than fight back and that the human dies on the spot where the velociraptor catches him/her. I mean it is possible that the raptor might miss while making an jump on the human and even after being hit the human might crawl for a few more meters.

Personally I would try to fight. Unless the scenery has some obstacles or some building where I could barricade myself I would probably get caught sooner or later. Instead by fighting back immediately I will face the velociraptor head on and I haven't exhausted myself by running.

Considering that Velociraptors were actually only about the size of large chickens, maybe 15 lbs, fighting back seems a good option.  But they're like chickens with switchblades on their feet, so you want to avoid giving them a chance to gang up on you.  Kick the leader, hard, and watch your back at all times.
