Harriet Tubman to go on US $20 bill
« on: April 21, 2016, 01:58:58 am »

To wit, the US $20 bill is being redesigned, to feature Harriet Tubman on the front and Andrew Jackson on the back. The $10 and $5 are also being redesigned, though Hamilton and Lincoln are remaining on the fronts of those bills.

It doesn't concern you, Sister, that kind of absolutist view of the universe? Right and wrong determined solely by a single all-knowing, all powerful being whose judgment cannot be questioned and in whose name the most horrendous acts can be sanctioned without appeal?

Quote from: Supreme Court of Canada
Being required by someone else’s religious beliefs to behave contrary to one’s sexual identity is degrading and disrespectful.

Now if only they would replace "In God We Trust" with "Male Tears", that would make my day.

First it was the Harriet Tubman $20 bill...

...and when molten gold Baphomet dollar coins were raining from the sky, we had no decent red-blooded American denomination to protect us.

I don't like it, honestly. Why? Not because Harriet Tubman is a bad choice, but because there's someone who has done far more for this country than over half of the people currently on American currency - Jackson, Franklin, and especially Grant. Dear god, whoever thought it was a good idea to put Grant on currency needs to be shot. Who is this person?

FDR. Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

No justice until we see FDR on the 50 instead of that stupid general.
There is no plague more evil and vile to watch spread than the plague that is the Von Habsburg dynasty.

At least he'll always have the dime.

I think Jackson might've been put on the $20 as revenge, considering his hatred of centralized banking.

We will after the Purge.

I mean it's a nice gesture but Jackson stays on the back of the bill, where he belongs.  Though saying I got a wad of Tubmans is gonna be weird.

Ironbite-but kinda cool.

I heard they were considering taking Hamilton off the $10, and then Lin-Manuel Miranda happened.

Good riddance in my opinion. Andrew Jackson was a complete asshole.

I think a real "fuck you" would've been if they put an Amerindian on the bill.  Maybe Sequoyah, since he was Cherokee.

From a Republican (who is saying this in jest, since he knows the parties have drastically changed over the years):

Quote
The founder of the Democratic party was just replaced on the $20 bill by a pro-gun Republican.
