This guy is a sheriff. Sounds to me like he isn't to far remove from those policemen who'd sexually assault women and gay men simply because they think they have the authority to do so.

I would reply to him, snarkishly, "Why would you consider that an insult, Mr. Bigoted Sherriff-person? A lot of folks of all orientations enjoy anal sex! Comeback when you can come up with something genuinely revolting & unethical, like murder-cannibalism or something. NOOB!".

UPDATE: Found another article about this little Pensylvania town. As silly as we have found this guy, he's nonetheless pretty scary. The town is literally held hostage by this pansy & his wimpy, no-dick gun nuts!

I mean, the whole purpose of a constitution is to protect citizens from tyranny... And these guys claim to defend it by setting up a tyranny of their own...

Why haven't their heads exploded already? Why hasn't the state of federal goverment or whatever authorities USA has done anything yet? There was one comment where it is mentioned that a person who posts a facebook threat to the president has police knocking on his door almost immediately but no one has sent the national guard to disarm the militant group that took over a town...

Don't you know? Any time a conservative belongs to a group with the word "Constitution" in the name, they either only mean it ironically or only mean the parts they like.

As for why they haven't sent in the troops yet...you know that no matter how much the Right tries to distance themselves from this nutbag (I haven't read any conservative comments about this particular case, but it would be pretty much par the course), any attempt to rein him in is going to have them screaming "FASCISM!!!!!" all the way to Capitol Hill.

Why do they even need that petition? Doesn't their blockade at the councill meeting already warrant a police investigation? I'd like to believe that even in USA that was illegal.

The problem is that the militia INCLUDES many members of the police and is led by the chief of police. Of course they aren't going to do anything about it.

Ok. So ignore the local police. USA has like 50 different law enforcement organisations. I'm pretty sure that the other 49 should be doing something right now.

National Guard is somewhat a police organization. Or, it has been used as such throughout American history. Used during riots and the like.

Unless you want the DEA, SWAT, FBI, or whatever else to go in.

Plus, this is exactly the sort of thing the National Guard is for. They're sort of the "citizen's army" and they should get sent in whenever there's a problem plaguing the citizen that's to big for the police to handle.

There's this thing called "jurisdiction." As Booker & Gibbon have pointed out, there are other organizations for this sort of thing.

I am aware of the jurisdiction problem but I thought that since USA does have some agencies that can operate across the states at least some of them could intervene into this. (From what little I know I would have assumed that FBI would be the ones to intervene.)

But I guess National guard is a logical choice.
