I have to admit that the only reason I wonder if that is real is because it seems way to appropriate that the guy running the thing is named “Crass”.

But if it is real, it seems like Mr. Crass has some idea of just why the Cox Sucker Days will be so popular…

Odds are, the bird did win, unless the cat managed to get in a very early hard bite to the neck. 

And I *like* cats, but I know how strong an eagle's beak and talons are.

It is entirely possible for a small mammal to take down a bird of prey. I have heard that eagles who aren't good killers might have their foot bitten off by rabbits and both end up dying.

Bald eagles primarily eat fish. So I wouldn’t count on one knowing how to take on a small predatory mammal. But even if the cat does manage to hurt the eagle, the cat will also be hurt pretty badly. It will be pretty difficult to get around those beak and talons.

You know, it just struck me that the Serenity vs. Serenity fight I mentioned earlier would be rather one-sided.

Film Serenity crew has a River whose abilities have been totally unlocked, and, by the end, almost totally in control. Plus I figure during that movie Mal is a lot pissier and all the more dangerous because of it. So their TV versions don’t stand a chance.

True, but the odds (without any other information related to the cat or the eagle) are still against the cat (the odds aren't impossible, however.  Just a little against.)

Personally, I'd like for them both to come out alive and a little wiser from the experience...

Here's the thing:

People assume that the cat and bird would fight.  Right now, it looks like they're cautiously checking each other out.  The eagle has lost ambush advantage, and the cat isn't ready to pounce.

They'd probably just as well leave each other alone.

Though I'm extremely worried for the cat no less... and the people wishing death on it give me a BIG sad.
