Backe in yon days of ye olde Nintendoe and Supere Nintendoe, one had to bloweth into thine carteridge (sometimes the conesole) if yon carteridge failed to showeth thine game on thy screene.


In the present, I still do it for GBA and DS games.  It's habit...and it usually works.

Fun fact: Blowing on the cartridge does all of jack shit. The game glitching out when you start is up is pretty much always due to poor contact between the console and cartridge. The act of removing and replacing the cartridge is often what fixes the problem, with the blowing being nothing more than a placebo.

Maybe it'll get rid of most of it if it's caked in the stuff, but it won't get rid of enough to make a solid connection. Observe.
