There once was a man called Mitt
Who wanted to be a hit
By smarming and charming
And therefore alarming
THOSE WHO HAVE VALUES AND LOVE.

Now, this man called Mitt
Who’s a bit of a twit
According to a Brit
Was enormously stiff
With more than a whiff
OF DISHONESTY IN HIS HEART.

When Mitt opened his mouth
The truth went south
He could not relate
Nor could he abate
The talk that he lied
And was on anyone’s side
WHO COULD FURTHER FEATHER HIS NEST.

Mitt’s problems arose
As we watched his nose
Getting longer by the day
As his positions would change
Like the weather outside
and the ebb and flow of a tide
He hunkered down
With a mask like a clown
AND REFUSED TO BACK ON DOWN.

When black became white
And night became day
We started to wonder
If he’d come asunder
And trip over these stances
That gave him more chances
AT WINNING OVER THE DAY.

We wanted conviction
Not just a depiction
Of a man who sways in the wind
But he refused to comply
And continued to lie.
AND DIDN’T SEEM TO CARE.

His integrity would shatter
But what did it matter
He had all that money in play.
Because Citizens United
Allows anyone blighted
To reap the reward
Of a system flawed
AND A DEMOCRACY FOR SALE.

His sudden love of women
And compassion for the troops
Did nothing to enhance
Mitt’s tendency to dance
Around his true agenda
That leaves out the poor
And shows them the door
For they are a drain
On that Republican purse
Which gives to the rich
And bestows a curse
ON THOSE WHO WOULD DARE TO NEED.

His obvious contempt behind a door
For those he called “entitled”
Showed a man of means
Whose wife talks of beans
Pretend to relate
To those outside that gate
OF THEIR VERY ENTITLED AND PRIVLEGED LIFE.

This man called Mitt would go to war
To please his generous donors
He would sacrifice your sons
But never his
BECAUSE AREN’T THEY THE CHOSEN ONES?

So, to Mitt I say,
Since we know that you can’t
Whatever you rant
Provide us with the truth.
Get out of the race
And out of our face
AND DO THE WORLD A FAVOR.

My school offers a Visual Culture class.  They discuss some aspect of graphic design in culture, and do art projects relating to that topic.  Recently they did a unit on propaganda.  The was what one of the students did (I got her permission before posting it).



She wanted to draw him eating a bowl of Unicorn Flakes, but didn't feel that she could pull it off artistically.

I had this girl for World History last year.  On the final, I had them write an essay on what three people or events in history that they would like to meet/see.  They had to describe who/what they chose and why it is significant  The third person she chose was Phyllis Schafly.  The reasons she gave were to figure out what was wrong with her and make sure that she never gives birth to Andy Schafly, so that Conservapedia never comes into existence.

You should talk her into coming to FSTDT once in a while after she graduates*, she sounds intelligent for her age.

*so there's no conflict of interest with you being her teacher and all.

She's also my sister-in-law, so I doubt that it would be any more of a conflict of interest than that is.  And she is very intelligent for her age.  All of my students are, it's a school for gifted kids.
