Upon consideration of this... I dunno... I don't really feel that much sorrow if a person lived to be 97 and was as kickass from cradle to grave like Sandman's dad seems to have been.  I think I'd party.  Like... an Irish wake for a Scot.

And no, I do not mourn Dad's passing. He was nearly blind and deaf and was more than ready to go. He told me last year that if Jesus didn't get off his arse and show up damn soon he was going to "have words" with him at the Pearly Gates. And if you have never had a 90+ year old Scotsman "have words" with you, consider yourself very, very lucky.
