Well, this just happened at my house. In my front yard.

I really loved that tree. I always liked how it blocked our house and gave a sense of privacy.

Noooo, Jeb, that's awful. I hate seeing trees go down, it really bugs me. I'm glad your house wasn't damaged, at least.
Guys, this is getting creepy. Can we talk about cannibalism instead?

That really sucks, JebJeb :<

I'm glad it didn't hurt anyone, at least.

Yeah now you can't run around naked in your own home.  Always a bummer.

Glad to hear (read) everyone's okay thus far.  In 2004, we got hit by 3 hurricanes in a row in FL and had to evacuate for the second.  I hope everyone stays safe and somewhat dry.

We had lost power here, but we got it back.  A little bit of flooding in our basement, but the sump pump took care of it.

Also, this is why we lost power.  This is down the street from where I live.

Also, on a side note, the observatory on Mt. Washington apparently saw 140 mph winds on top of Mt. Wash. with the gusts from the storm.

Holy shit, TGR.
We didn't lose any power, and it's just misting right now. But the people up a couple doors from me weren't so lucky, I noticed theres a huge tree down in their front yard, along with some power lines, while on my dog's morning walk.

Holy snap, that picture's insane. My mom texted me this morning and there are trees down around the house and across our driveway. There's also no way into town because all the roads are flooded.

Holy crap, that picture is insane, TGR. Wow.

I have daylight pictures from my house.

Some branches did land on those cars, but it doesn't look like any damage was done, other than to the paint.

And the house that it's blocking is empty, for now. So that's good too. It completely landed in the yard of that house.

I feel for the folks in NYC, they really got hammered. Subway flooding, fires, massive power outages, and the most unusual stuff washing ashore. My sister works in NYC, and she now has a vacation until further notice, even though she has one of those jobs that she can work at home if necessary.

That last one's kinda funny.

Part of the siding on my house got torn off by the wind, but apart from that, no serious damage.  Power, cable, and internet are all functional here.

Across town, things are not quite so good.  One of my mom's friends lost power and had a tree fall on her house.

South of here, the damage is far worse.  New Jersey Transit is reporting "unprecedented" damage from the storm, the Salem County Nuclear Reactors have been taken offline, a damaged levy has left four towns in Bergen County underwater, and the famous boardwalk & amusement park at Seaside Heights has been almost totally destroyed.  And of course, Nicki has already mentioned how bad things are in NYC.

I was here for Hurricane Irene (which made landfall directly in Brooklyn at Coney Island), and this is orders of magnitude worse.
