The Flood is one part of the Bible I have yet to figure out how to fit into a scientific framework.

I am not certain what you mean by this. You must have heard of the prehistoric changes in sea level where the Mediterranean overflowed into the Bosporus and created the Black Sea, right? There are prehistoric settlements found deep undersea there, and many are of the opinion that the rise in sea levels following the last ice age retreat spawned the global flood legends in many places all over the world, in the case of the Noah story, the one around the Black Sea area.

Actually, it wasn't just two of every animal. It was seven mated pairs of each kosher mammal and each bird, and two mated pairs of each non-kosher animal.

The bible says two of each unclean animal - that's one pair - and seven of each clean animal, but it's unclear whether that's seven individuals or seven pairs. It certainly doesn't say seven pairs any more than it says two pairs of the unclean beasties.

Haven't you ever had a debate wiht people who support digital piracy? When you make a digital copy of something the original version still remains the same and unchanged. Therefore you aren't TAKING anything, you are simply creating something completely new. It's just that your brand new creation is a completely identical copy of whatever you just pirated...


(Not that I agree with that justification of piracy, but that is what the comic reminds me of.)
