No, at least not literally.  I suppose you could consider her a metaphorical big sister after the Scootalove ep.

Who the hell knows?  They certainly don't seem to be canon yet.  Nobody knows if they ever will be.  If they do, I kinda hope they don't spoil it.

Faust (and Thiessen) have both said that Dash is NOT related to Scootaloo.  But that they'll develop a sisterly relationship.

As for Scoot's parents, no, there's no information one way or the other on them.

Okay also Applebloom saying that it was good thing that it was ruined hurt.  Mostly for the barn thing.

That's a good point, actually.  I guess the lyrics weren't the best, especially after the show's writers have shown that they're capable of writing relatively (among kids' shows, anyway) intelligent lyrics.  I mainly enjoyed it for how it sounded and how cute the accompanying montage was.

You know, I think I saw a comic where Applejack's dad was telling her "One day this will be yours." while holding his hat and pointing to the orchard.  The joke was that he was referring to the hat.

I actually kind of like the idea of AJ's hat being from her father.  That is to say, I kind of like the idea of it as a keepsake for AJ to remember her dad by.  Hell, I'm sure a touching fanfiction could be written or a small fancomic could be made from the idea.
