Might as well use it.  When we lost our contract, I did the same thing with my vacation days and sick hours.  Used 'em up.

Apparently we also have this policy where you can cash out your vacation time. I heard it's more heavily taxed, maybe? I have no idea how it typically works.

Lookit this thing I (stupidly) spent money on! Course, I can't do much with it at the moment, I'm lacking a disk or tape drive, and something that'll let me connect it to a screen, but hey! It's still a working piece of computing history!

I got a call from my temp agency today that as of four days ago, I was given a 50 cent raise, after only three months at my current job.  I'm up to $11 an hour, AND I got offered overtime tomorrow...

... come to think of it, I should probably go to bed soon.

Uploading episode 30 of my LP.  Even though my audience is...pretty much non-existent, I feel proud for getting to the point where I can start playing with one of my favourite power-generating mods of all time: ReactorCraft.  Directing the flow of neutrons, turning deuterium into tritium, disposing of nuclear waste, and more await me!  FORWARD!

I ordered boots from Amazon for part of my costume, and they are kickass. I NEVER order that type of thing online, but these boots are perfect and only cost $20. You can't beat that.

I finally have a decent position that is actually in my field!

I got a seasonal position as a laboratory and field technician at a paleontology museum in Alberta for this summer (May 1 to August 31). Most of the stuff they work on tends to be Late Cretaceous dinosaurs and their contemporaries.

I will now have to fill out a lot of paperwork in order to legally work in Canada, but I'm finally getting to work in paleontology for a change.

Just got my shiny new TI Nspire CX CAS!  It seems to be pretty much every TI calculator ever rolled into one and made, like...20 times more awesome.  For one, its got colour and a screen that doesn't have a crappy resolution!  Two, its actually effing rechargeable!  And three, it seems to have tools for everything, and I do mean everything.  Everything from "solve for x" to statistics to trig to straight-up fuckin calculus.  It'll take a little getting used to, but this thing already looks like a fuckin powerhouse.  Seriously, if this thing were a car, it'd be a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.

I had several job interviews today, in an are within walking distance of my apartment, and at least two of them expressed interest in me! I may actually have work soon. What a strange concept.
