To me, hating on adult entertainment for feminist reasons is stupid. Now, granted; I personally think that the subject matter and/or presentation of porno can be sexist & stupid. However, I don't think that porn/stripping/erotica/etc. should be banned. That would be throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

To me, sex-positive feminism is the best feminism. Nothing's more feminist that a woman proudly displaying & flaunting her sexuality! Sex-negative feminists rightfully argue against Patriarchy yet they internalize Patriarchy's attitudes about covering-up female sexuality.

If humanity embraced the full beauty of sexuality & eschewed violence, we would be a much better world.

We need an open, loving & sexual society. Oddly enough, in a sexually liberal society, the more unsavory & gruesome of paraphilias is almost non-existent. Sex becomes healthy & responsible. I remember a site that showed the top porn searches for each country. The porn searches for the really repressed & super-conservative societies was disturbing. Top porn searches in places like the Mid-East, Africa & parts of Asia revealed top key words like "Rape", "Scat", "Incest", or worse.

Heck, I've even just ditched my ShaktaPaganism for straight-up NeoPaganism.

The problem is that this would conflict with the goal of any organization, which is to exert influence over its members, if not outright control them.

Also, I think all faiths need a re-boot. A periodic re-boot is good for a lot of things. There's a lot of good, beautiful & true stuff in the world's faiths & scriptures but it's mixed in with a lot of crap.

It would be nice if more religions took a more...rational approach to the complete bullshit in their dogma and holy books.

Unfortunately, one of the main tenants of quite a few religions is that you accept and obey; honest introspection and improvement is viewed as anathema to this goal, because such a thing is seen as a threat to their power.  Alas, this leads to the religion stagnating and they slowly lose membership, eventually leading to massive hemorrhages as the world moves on, but the faith itself remains mired in the garbage of previous generations.  This leads to a perceived Catch-22 scenario: if they update, they lose members, and if they don't update, they lose members.  Laziness leads them to pursuing the latter since that's the one that's simplest to enact for their leadership.

There's a reason there's a difference between Religion & Spirituality. Sure, the two may overlap but religion is based on dogma & structure whereas pure spirituality is something more sublime & personal.

This is why I'm a spiritual NeoPagan (not even one based on any set pantheon, I just believe in a pantheistic higher power that & envision as an archetypical Lady & Lord, who both make up a singular Higher Power).

I'm not even a ShaktaPagan or a ChristoPagan (or a weird combo of both), anymore. Certain things about Hinduism were confusing me & I realized that it's best to have a spirituality where both genders are 100% equal.

There's bits and pieces of truth in the various scriptures but personal gnosis is best. You can't put the ultimate in a book. If others find peace & fulfillment in religion, that's their right. I still think that Jesus was pure awesome. I can still like certain characters & teachings without adhering to the religion in question.
