Rinella:  Then welcome home :3 I think you'll like it.

Kihdo:  There's HD vid rips of the episodes out there, run by one of the Equestria Daily mods, in fact.  Would you like a link?

Shining Armour shits me so much.

Just finished the first two episodes, I didn't really like them. Prince Sombra didn't get much of a look in, the whole backstory in general was somewhat ignored. It seems to me that they tried to fit too much into into only two episodes.

I think a major part of why this isn't quite as popular as the other season premieres is because the last two premieres were driven by and focused on a strong, creepy villain. In this case, Sombra was really pretty incidental to the plot. We barely saw or heard about him at all.

The one thing that really bugged me was the whole "And Boom Cadence Saves Everypony" ending. I spent the whole episode watching Twilight and Spike, and then suddenly Cadence is the real hero. It happened at the end of last season, which was u derstandable, but I really didn't expect it to carry over again.

Actually, it was more like "Boom, Crystal Ponies" than "Boom, Cadence".

The plot focused on Spike being evident hero, right down to getting his own stained glass homage.

Cadence mostly just delivered the heart to its proper receptacle.

An interesting fan-theory for the two-parter:

...Well, I have said that Sombra felt more like a force than a villain...

This actually makes sense... GENIUS!

The one thing that really bugged me was the whole "And Boom Cadence Saves Everypony" ending.

I don't really see it.  If anything Cadence just provided that last diversion so that Spike could get the Heart into position.,

and 'Princess Javelin' would be an awesome band name.  Who knew Shining was into track and field?

So I finally got around to watching the premiere.

It wasn't too bad.  Yeah, they had to gloss over some backstory because of time constraints.  That's gonna be true for as long as they're restricted to two-parter stories.  However, instead of bitching about it, I'd rather like to think of it as just leaving room for fanfic writers.  The show glosses over a LOT of backstory.  I don't consider this a terrible thing however.  Just use your imagination, people!

Oh, and don't forget that this gives the official comic book more leeway.  The less the realm of Equestria and it's history is explored in the episodes, the more they have to work with.  After all, I do recall the authors saying that they can't really do something that's planned for the show.

Three things here:  One, the next episode is PINKIE CLONES! Tai's going to be happy...

Two? I have a major question, for those fic-readers here... would anypony be interested in commissioning me for fanfic? I'm looking to make some extra scratch for a while, in light of the $883.85 I just dropped on my car repairs...

Three, and the silly one, under the cut for size:

OMG, I loved the new episode, but then again I'm a Pinkie Pie fan girl. Also I loved how they poked fun at the older version of MLP, during the paint drying scene.

I'm sorry, but I think this episode was WAY too over the top.  I hope they don't go further in this direction this season.
