If that were true then everyone with a bachelors degree would have a job in their field. College can give you a great education if you put in the effort for it. If you want training for a job then you would probably be better off going to a trade school.

Well, he's partially right...its a training ground to get a job somewhere other than Burger King or Walmart.  Either he doesn't want women working good jobs (spending their lives in the hell that is retail) or he doesn't want women working.

Also doesn't hurt if, by not going to college, they limit their exposure to outside ideas and might be led to the, entirely correct, idea that the Catholic Church is criminally full of shit.
