This is a classic case of paparazzi journalism blowing something completely out of proportion.

Nicki said something unrelated to Taylor, Taylor responded in error, Nicki corrected her, Taylor apologized.

But the media talked this up like it was World War Three.

...Huh?
There is no plague more evil and vile to watch spread than the plague that is the Von Habsburg dynasty.

Pretty much.

Yeah, please stop making threads 3 or 4 or 5 or 10 days after hugely hyped-up news items have hit the net and airwaves, which we have all seen and gotten tired of already. Because if any of us ever COULD give a shit about it, somebody would start a thread the same day the news breaks, not half a week later.

It reminds me of the feeling I get when encountering those people IRL who never read or watch the news. Once in a while, they trot up to greet you, all excited to tell you all about a world-wide media blitz news item, that happened last week, and you just stand there listening to them, smiling and nodding, because you're so shocked and appalled that a person can even function in society like that. And then, you walk off and realize that they are probably a much happier person than you are for being oblivious about shit that nobody can do anything to prevent in the first place. /snark

I sympathize completely. However, to use against us. Let me ask you a troll. On the one who pulled it. But here's the question: where do I think it might as well have stepped out of all people would cling to a layman.

Who are those people and why did UP make a thread about them?

No idea about Nicki Minaj, but I don't think Taylor Swift sings badly.

Plus, her tweeting about information security is often quite insightful :D

Come at me, raptor.  We'll see if your bite is anywhere near your squawk.

Also, just can't stand the sound of most country singers, regardless of gender.  They sound too whiny.  Wish Johnny Cash were still alive.

While T-Swizzle may not necessarily be a bad singer, she desperately needs some new material. Her (or rather, her songwriter's) ex-boyfriend obsession has gotten to the point where she now sounds whinier than most actual emo/goth/whatever bands.

Wait a minute. A thread about 2 pop singers, 2 purveyors of manufactured music, had a misunderstanding and cleared it up. That's what this is about? The fuh-ok. Alright. That's what I get for wandering into E&T. Sorry to interrupt. Carry on. I think 1 Direction did or said something recently. Maybe that's newsworthy?
