Yeah, please stop making threads 3 or 4 or 5 or 10 days after hugely hyped-up news items have hit the net and airwaves, which we have all seen and gotten tired of already. Because if any of us ever COULD give a shit about it, somebody would start a thread the same day the news breaks, not half a week later.
It reminds me of the feeling I get when encountering those people IRL who never read or watch the news. Once in a while, they trot up to greet you, all excited to tell you all about a world-wide media blitz news item, that happened last week, and you just stand there listening to them, smiling and nodding, because you're so shocked and appalled that a person can even function in society like that. And then, you walk off and realize that they are probably a much happier person than you are for being oblivious about shit that nobody can do anything to prevent in the first place. /snark
