I'm no linguist, but I'd wager that nearly every non-constructed language has words with multiple meanings that lead to occasional ambiguity.
Even so, I'm pretty sure English could use some distinctions along the lines of eros/agape/philia/storge. And for the sake of arguments about copyright law and a hundred other issues, there really need to be English equivalents to
gratis and
libre. I mean, it's OK to have the same words for "watermelon" and "hatbox with false compartment for concealing cannabis", because no-one's gonna mix those things up, but using "love" as a sticking plaster for any kind of strong affection is ridiculous.
