I always pronounced it lie-ra (in my head) Although I'm not sure the name is canon (Heartstrings is the other fan name for her I believe)
I'd be more sympathetic if people here didn't act like they knew what they were saying when they were saying something very much wrong.

Her canon name is Lyra Heartstrings, as established by the card that comes with her blind-bag figurine.

There is light and darkness in the world, to be sure.  However, there's no harm to be had in walking in the shade or shadows.

I rather enjoyed the episodes. Not enough of them focus on Twilight. >.>

Good very good.  It's looking like Twilight might be the next alicorn.  Although the villain was not as good as Discord.  But let's be fair who is?  Also nice to see Shining Armor and Princess Candice.  Now to go to the MLP dethroning moment page and watch the inevitable firestorm.
Spoiled for stupidity.

...And why have I still, so far, not watched an episode of this series yet?

Availability?  Lack of interest in the show outside of memetic material?  Lack of time?  Fear that it won't match the hype?  Don't want to be associated with rabid idiot bronies?

I mean, hell, I'll be the first to admit that FIM just isn't for everyone.  I'm not one of those people who thinks it's a fact that everyone who watches it is hooked.  That's just stupid and arrogant.

Availability?
Since Netflix has released episodes of the show, that isn't a problem. Now the recent episodes, I doubt I'll have access to them unless someone is kind enough to upload them (and that is if the series holds my interest). I should also mention that we can't access the Hub channel, which is a shame since it also offers reruns of Batman: The Animated Series and Beyond, which captivated my interest for that channel as well.

Not a problem.

Lack of time?
I often find myself doing a whole lot of stuff in the week, often including class assignments (and unfortunate procrastination and dedication to unimportant things), so that's a problem.

Fear that it won't match the hype?
A possibility.

Don't want to be associated with rabid idiot bronies?
Since I'm in the Pokémon and Sonic the Hedgehog fandoms, I've seen a lot of idiots or outright gross people, and I try not to get worked up about it. I've seen the ugly side of the MLP:FiM fandom and that hasn't scared me from looking into that show (or the stigma gained for being a fan of that show, but then again, I've seen Pokéfans slam Bronies...  I mean at least the Pokémon series had its stigma for being for kids, boys and girls, where My Little Pony for the longest time was exclusively aimed for little girls).

Oh yes. Bless you for not being those bohos who are just so... religious about this show. I mean what were they like before the Friendship is Magic series, and when someone on 4Chan's /co/ board snarked a negative review of the show on Cartoon Brew (the original author complained about how animation isn't like "better times" and now everything is just "toyetic")? When I'm in a fandom, it's usually because I like a work, not some sort of cry for attention. I mean I also pointed out that I might get disappointed (which is why for all this time, I never watched an episode of the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzimaya and Lucky Star, despite getting caught into them in 2007-2008. I mean I might hate them outright if I were to watch them now).

I haven't been really part of the fandom since summer started. Just too busy to read fics and look at art. I feel like it's about damn time I came home to it.

I just finished watching the Season 3 openers, they were AWESOME!!! It was nice seeing new episodes of MLP:FIM, I haven't really been watching much ponies since the end of last season.
