Can they even "reserve" a fetus for adoption, other than as in contracting with a surrogate? The sign says, "...adopt TODAY". Huh. So, where are those prospective adoptive parents and their licensed adoption attorneys? Is the sign holder going to phone them and they will drive over ASAP to start this process? And are they going to cover the prenatal and delivery medical expenses and lost wages due to carrying the pregnancy to term>?

I think you can set up an adoption before birth. Don't know about the rest. It would probably be handled in the contract.

Yeah, I think pregnant women in some instances have the option to personally look over candidates and hand pick who they want to give the baby to.  I know it's shown up in multiple forms of media.

Since this actually hits very close to home for me let me explain:

Not everyone can find a family for their baby before it's even born. You have to do a lot of paperwork. Some people think it's like being a late-blooming surrogate but it isn't. If you know you have to give up your child but you don't want to abort, or you were going to keep it then suddenly your economic status changed you can talk to various agencies in your area.

My parents got me when I was 3 days old. 3 days. They knew about me before I was even born. They had picked me out to take home while I was still in the womb. When I was born they drove like 6 hours thru a blizzard. They had to wait for a certain time to let me be adopted out.

Something similar happened with my sister and her husband. Except it was very close to a surrogate story. They tracked this young mother's progress months before it was time to deliver.

Neither of these instances are typical for adopting, but they are possible. I hope I helped.

Hmm, this seems to be a compelling alternative to having an abortion.

But there has to be some catch to it. Perhaps finding suitable adopters.

And the whole "carrying a child for nine months" bit. Though I *think* it is legal to have the adoptive parents pay your medical expenses, but that might cross in to "selling children".

IIRC (can't get to my family law notes at the moment), adoptive parents can pay medical expenses.

Makes more sense to me, then. Fair enough.

Yes, God is judging America for abortion and not for Slavery or the Native American genocide.

That'll work if you wanted to reinforce a woman's decision to abort!
