I'm not sure whether prostituion is or isnt illegal in Italy. As he only got in trouble for this girl makes me think that the underage bit was the big deal. Pretty sure he didn't deny rooting her once she was over 18.

Besides which I wasn't weighing on the legality or otherwise of it, simply that calling him a kiddy-fiddler is a bit of stretch.

This just in - DOMA has been struck down as unconstitutional, and the bill that Wendy Davis was filibustering in Texas last night was vetoed by the governor. It's invalidated.

From what I understand, the actual problem was that she was both a prostitute and 17. Independent sex workers over 18 are legal, and age of consent is 16.

I got an extra day of work, one of the managers called me up and asked if I would mind coming in on Monday. I can't wait for my next paycheck, it's going to be a good one, especially since I'm working the 4th so I get time and a half for that day.

Virginia requires attorneys to take 12 hours of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) every year. Due to the fact I have yet to find an attorney job, I have been putting off doing CLE. (Partially because I have not been getting paid well. Partially because I was waiting to see what kind of job I got so I could take CLE that goes along with it.) CLE costs about $120 for 2 hours, so doing it is a chunk of change.

I thought CLE was due by July 31. Bar dues ($225) are due July 31. So I decided I had to bite the bullet and start paying. So I went to the site today to sign up for and take my first CLE.

Turns out that I have until October 31 to complete CLE. I am still taking 4 hours at the moment, since I had planned to take those hours today. (My new temp job is working at a law firm that does foreclosures. So I am taking a class on foreclosure.) But my finances for the month just got a lot more flexible.

Sister had her 18th birthday today. It was long and exhaustive, but even after the morning 3.5 hour zipline session nearly killed me (only slight hyperbole) I kept at it because I couldn't quit on something this important to her.
