Even though most non-Southerners don't realize it, Florida's state flag is still based on a Confederate battle flag. Nearly all the Southern state flags are based on civil war era Confederate flags. Just not on the famous "stars and bars" flag that everybody knows. It's all hidden-in-plain-sight, sneaky bullshit that makes the bigots happy.
Don't forget the Confederate battle flag on the grounds of South Carolina's State House. Despite having twelve schools in the NCAA's Division I in the state (Charleston Southern, Clemson, Coastal Carolina, College of Charleston, Furman, Presbyterian, South Carolina, South Carolina State, South Carolina Upstate, The Citadel, Winthrop and Wofford), the NCAA does not allow championship games to be hosted in the state due to the presence of that flag.
