I always heard that the SAT was preferred on the coasts, and the ACT in the center of the country. Growing up in Washington State, I took the SAT.

Also, we're getting off topic.

Even further off-topic, but I've heard both tests are utterly meaningless if you manage to get into a good community college before uni, one with a Guaranteed Admissions Program with your uni of choice.

Seriously, though, I got fucking sick of standardized tests by the time I got outta school.  I had 3 standardized tests I took thru school, that I can remember: Stanford 9, ACTAAP, and ... somethin with the name of a state, I think it was Iowa, or somethin.  Its hard to remember because they're all the fucking same fucking thing.  Also, bloody stupid easy, if you managed to memorize a few key things, so its entire purpose (gauging how well a school was doing, academically) was thrown out the window because it wasn't an actual test of what you'd learned, simply what you could memorize.

Not even that much. Go to a decent community college, one whose credits transfer to the university of your choice, and that GPA is all they seem to give a shit about.

I'd be more sympathetic if people here didn't act like they knew what they were saying when they were saying something very much wrong.

Is it just me, or does Sam seem a little... malicious?

Though I do love how shocked the person is that they had a racial prejudice bug in their heads.  In the sense that one would be shocked about discovering a dead mouse in their computer.

Kind of ironic given this picture:

Though you could argue that picture was during war time, which needed propaganda.

It wouldn't be too shocking to find a dead mouse next to a computer. All you have to do is replace the batteries :P

I said in the computer ;D

Also, I just realized that it was Dr. Seuss who drew that.

Oh yeah! He did war propaganda before he made books.
I know that the book "Horton hears a Who" is based off of the USA's occupation in Japan after WW2. He dedicated it to his Japanese friend.
A common misconception is that the book is about abortions, hence the "A person is a person, no matter how small" pro-life propaganda.

Yeah, he was pretty strongly anti-Japanese during the war.  However, after the war, he saw the plight of the occupied Japanese, and he changed his opinion.

He wasn't a perfect man, but he was capable of changing his mind when he felt that he was wrong, which is a pretty strong recommendation in my book.

Yep, Dr. Seuss was a very pro-FDR, anti-isolationist political cartoonist for a newspaper in New York.  These are my two favorites:

There's a whole book of his stuff, if you like it.

Last year, we weren't doing anything in our Chemistry class because it was the day before christmas break. I got bored and drew an awesome Christmas tree, snowman, penguin, etc, and wrote "Happy Holidays Everyone!". I went to check on it later and someone put an "X" over "Happy Holidays" and put "Merry Christmas".
Is Christmas not a holiday or something? Do other December holidays suddenly not exist anymore?
Seriously, do they expect everyone to give up their holiday and focus on Christmas, just so fundies they feel like they're better than everyone else?
