My picks:
  • Chemistry
  • Neurology
  • Physics
  • Astronomy
  • And lastly, Evolution*
* Which is the point of this comic, based on the controversy of Creationism and Evolution (the former being outdated/pseudoscience - which I don't understand why it is still being taught - while the latter is hard-worked, no-bullshit science which had refuted past "theories").

I assume it has to do with the travel economy increasing so as to help kids because they're the future.

Somethin' like that. The idea that children are the future is admirable in and of itself.

Northern Gateway is an oil pipeline project meant to go from the oil sands in Alberta and cut across northern British Columbia to deliver oil to Pacific ports for export.

Got to admit, I still don't get it. Even knowing full well what the project is, I look at the image and fail to see anything of ... I fail to see much of anything really.

I think it's a joke on how various groups that do destructive things to the societal fabric (in this case, the environmental repercussions could be disastrous) claim they're doing it "for the children".

BC in particular has had a crapload of problems with the teachers' union and the provincial government never being able to come to terms on a contract (then the government legislates one and the union eventually gets the law struck down in court); the teachers withdraw certain services (such as extracurricular activities--i don't think they can't strike fully) and both sides claim they're looking out for the "best interests of the students". As a student, I found this to be complete bullshit from utterly self-interested parties looking out for themselves rather than people who couldn't vote.

I'd be more sympathetic if people here didn't act like they knew what they were saying when they were saying something very much wrong.

Her3tik, you have groupies.

There are a number of ways, though my favourite is simply to take them by surprise. They're just walking down the street, minding their own business when suddenly, WHACK! Penis to the face.
