Seriously this trend to make things "dark" is just sad and pointless.

Nah. See, McDonalds is mass produced crap that never tried to be anything except mass produced crap, and makes money by just being cheap and generic enough to attract everyone and gouge as much cash from them as possible. Kinda like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Trespasser is more like a little hole-in-the-wall bistro that shoots for the moon with a high concept and does things that nobody else around really does, but it has too many flaws to truly be good except as an interesting visit and disappoints all of the people who wanted to be excited about it.

OOT Link died as an adult in one timeline, which lead to the Imprisoning War, which lead to Link to the PAst (which of course, features a Link. So its not really descendent, i guess?)
