I'm really, really tired of being the only trans* person in my uni's QSA and I've only been to two meetings.
In that time, this is what happened:
- "What's your
real name?" 2X, with an "I won't tell anyone" bonus the second time
- Assorted bullshit about not being trans enough/man enough because I can't start hormones/surgery right now
- Random bitching about how "This
was a Gay-Straight Alliance" and now everything's RIUNED FOREVAR
- An out-of-left-field comment about how I should be disappointed that my hands are "too small and girlish" to "properly" pass, which is
loltacular because my hands are fucking massive
- An unsolicited comment about how "feminine" my hair is
- "But you're so pretty!" Why is it that the only time people say "you're beautiful the way you are" is when you need to change?
- Accusations of being homophobic/misogynistic because I "abandoned" being a lesbian to "join my male oppressors" (HA HA HA get the fuck out)
- A long-winded, WTF-inducing speech about penis envy from someone who wants to become a therapist
- Accusations of heterophobia when I objected to a face-eating contest in the common area
