It was just called The Day After.

It's missing one thing, he made it ok to demonize the poor.

This illustrates one of my pet peeves about politicians and the election process. People seem to care more about bullshit bonhomie than the issues or what the person actually DOES. That's how we get morons like Bush in the White House.

Regan somehow gets a pass because he smiled a lot, acted like everyone's favorite granddad, said patriotic crap and generally distracted people from the fact his policies were fucking them over seven ways from Sunday. Did you know there's actually a fucking organized effort to name pretty much anything and everything after that two-faced douchebag?

I don't give a shit if a politician is likeable or is someone you'd want to sit down and have a beer with. It's not some kind of high school popularity contest. I want someone intelligent who understands the issues and knows when to hold fast and when to compromise.

I think it has to do with empathy.  I do think Romney had zero empathy but i think Reagan did too

Even Ronnie got it into his skull that gay folks were actual human beings when his friend Rock Hudson was dying. So in terms of empathy, point goes to Reagan on that.

He was still a race-baiting, classist, war criminal though.

As an outsider, I love the political cartoons of the animals that represent the parties.
It is like those animals were chosen by political cartoonists. The elephant always looks fat, old and angry, while the donkey always looks confused and ineffectual.

They were, actually. Well, Andrew Jackson was called a Jackass by his opponents so he made the donkey a campaign symbol and it happened to stick, but political cartoons helped that and definitely were the origins of the elephant.
