I suddenly find myself wondering why the distinction between magma and lava is really necessary. While I'm sure there's a perfectly valid reason for it that only geologists need ever consider, I do find it rather odd nevertheless.

It is a well-known fact that you should never let astronomers name things. Ever.

Chemists are the same, really. It's why INEPT and INADEQUATE spectroscopy are a thing.

SHIT    Super Huge Interferometric Telescope (look for yourself)

Wow. Imagine if this thing discovers something that's important enough to announce to grade school children and they have to figure out how to refer to it.

EDIT: Wikipedia says this wasn't meant to be taken seriously.

The author of DOOFAAS did make some mistakes; for example, the "Super Huge Interferometric Telescope" is actually a spoof proposal created for an AAS meeting and not a real telescope.

You know, if it's so much better than the leading brand, why isn't it the leading brand?

Neon Genesis Evangelion according to someone who hasn't even seen that show (that would be me):

Just to let you know, I have done scant research of said show, and there will still be inaccuracies because, duh.

The one thing I give a shit about this show is that this was my old friend's all-time favorite anime.

I wonder why I am reluctant to watch most anime anymore?

By the looks of things, FSTDT is dead and has been for the last month. The last time anything was posted was January and that was a grand total of seven posts across all three categories.

Come to think of it, I wonder if it would be possible now to acquire it? Probably not, knowing Distind's disposition during the split, but mayhaps it's worth a shot?

There must be something wrong with your connection.  I'm showing 222 posts in February, and 17 already this month.

Consumer inertia, or monopolistic practices, or rigged markets, or the Illuminati, or those same people allegedly sabotaging the electric car (who may or may not be the Stonecutters), or the malign influence of Steve Guttenberg, or whatever.

Fun fact: I have not seen any of the films nominated for Best Motion Picture this year.

Dallas Buyers Club sounds like Breaking Bad: The Movie.
