Somehow I doubt the makers of that lovely picture watch Spongebob- it's made abundantly clear that his boss is screwing him over financially at every opportunity.

There was an old episode where Squidward tried to go on strike but SpongeBob acted like a total ass the entire time so nothing got done.

Are they mixing in-universe and meta properties (acting like Spongebob being a fry-cook somehow affects his show being worth billions)?  That makes for a bit of a skewed comparison, don't you think?  Also, going by a scene where Spongebob shows his license, he'd be 26, not 16.  If we go by the creator's statement, "He explained that SpongeBob actually has no specific age, but that he is old enough to be on his own and still be going to boating school.  The decision to have SpongeBob attend a boat driving school was made due to a request from Nickelodeon that the character attend a school."  So, still most likely not 16, as 16 isn't an age most kids start living on their own, and somone can be out of their teens by the time they start learning how to drive.  And that's not even considering just how long Spongebob has been failing his boating class.  If they're going by the first air-date, Spongebob would be 14, not 16.

. . . Holy crap, Spongebob started 14 years ago.

Really, I've never gotten the appeal.  If I want to watch grown adults slam into one another, I'll watch Braveheart or something...and if it HAS to be some kind of sport, I'll stick to wrestling or something.  At least the characters there are halfway interesting, and its STILL less gay than football.
