Voter impersonation in the USA is rarer than imagined
« on: August 15, 2012, 09:15:18 pm »

Voter impersonation, the reason why more than half of all U.S. states have adopted or considered voter identification laws, is virtually non-existent, according to an investigative news study.

After examining 2,068 cases of voter fraud since 2000, News21, a Carnegie-Knight investigative reporting project, found only 10 cases involving in-person voter impersonation.  That’s 10 cases out of 146 million registered voters, or one for every 15 million prospective voters.

Even more evidence that the voter ID laws are really about vote suppression.

and don't expect this to mean anything to those who push the idea that there's a lot of voter fraud going on and that these laws will do anything about it.
Just talked to a conservative friend who said it was all propaganda and "proved it" by citing a brennen center report from 2007 that said the same.

For some reason conservatives have decided anything the brennen center says is wrong and by extension so is anything that might in any way agree with the brennen center,.

I am still trying to find a nice way to tell some of my friends they are idiots.

Duh. Like I told the guys at work, the only ones that commit any type of voting fraud are the ones having a shit fit over it right now because they know they're gonna lose again
