No reason it wouldn't be real. It's a mainstream Methodist church. I've seen "Happy Gay Pride Day!" on the marquee of an Episcopalian church before, too.

Methodists (and Episcopalians) tend to run the entire political spectrum so it's hard for me to tell sometimes.

Just because they were "liberal" when I was a fundie doesn't mean they're actually liberal, after all :P

True, and it freaks me out how fast Dominionists and other extreme adherents have infiltrated the mainstream churches, too, but by and large, the Unitarians, United Church of Christ, Presbyterians, United Methodists (not Southern Methodists) and most assuredly Episcopalians remain centrist to liberal, and even progressive.

Incidentally, I've seen significant pockets of Norse Heathens that actively speak out against the racism and white supremacy that fester within the religious umbrella of "Norse Heathenism".

Just goes to show, there's good and bad in just about every religion.  Of course, there are exceptions where the institution itself is terrible *cough*Scientology*cough*.
