above sea level, not including the high mountains it was flying over at the time. It was well within range of portable missile weapon systems, and remember that IS has stolen tens of millions of dollars to buy on black market and has over-run govt. army installations and looted shit like crazy. The plane has been determined to have broken up at high altitude, spilling some of the bodies over miles and miles. That's not a mechanical failure scenario. That's a missile hit or a planted bomb.
