Almost definitely. With 98,817 (according to a quick and dirty google search) public schools in the USA, there are bound to be examples of almost every permutation of reasonable and unreasonable policy enforcement.

Nostalgia coming back.  Part of the issue is well they might find a Shek suspicious and suspend him for the toy dagger since with zero tolerance policies they are so broad that anything unusual can be a violation.

Because Comic Sans is more widely used, and it looks like something your kindergarten teacher uses to send out newsletters to parents about the upcoming PTSA school canned food drive fundraiser. It's insipid and looks condescending.

That font is pretty shitty too, though. I'm happy I don't have it on my computer. It looks like the kind of font used for Tex-Mex restaurants trying to look "authentic," and seems to remind me of playgroups for toddlers and infants for some reason.

I see that font far more often than I see Comic Sans.  I have never gotten the impression that it's a condescending font, more "casual" than anything.

Do I agree that it's been used inappropriately?  Sure.  So have many other fonts, but you don't hear NEARLY the outrage towards them as Comic Sans.

Papyrus for one...
