Finally watched the Dexter finale. This about sums up my feelings:
Same. (click to show/hide)I've always thought the only satisfactory ending for Dexter would be being discovered as a serial killer by Miami Metro and either end executed or in hiding. Throughout the season, it was obvious this wasn't something they were building up to, so I already went in not expecting much. And then they kill Deb for no reason and pull that idiotic sailing off into the storm deal. And of course, the "twist" that he survived which I'm pretty sure surprised just about nobody. Also: what's with the "nobody ever notices anything unless they are main characters" situation they had going on throughout the episode? There's the "stabbing Elway with a needle and nobody notices" thing Art pointed, the "carry off a corpse into a boat and nobody bats an eyelid" scene, the extensive talks about killing Saxon just in front of a 4-year-old who apparently is deaf when not spoken to directly... It's like the writers just stopped caring. Which, actually, explains a lot.Dammit. It was a terrible ending for a good (occasionally great) show.
I've finally started watching Breaking Bad. Christ, have I ever been missing out -- this show rules.
