If it were truly easy for the disadvantaged [more likely to vote not-Republican] to get state identification in the United States, state legislatures wouldn't be bombarded with these bills and Republicans would try another suppression tactic. It doesn't have to be difficult to get an ID, mind. Just little loopholes here and there -- sorry, your married name doesn't match your ID -- oh, you want to get an ID and vote on the same day? No such luck. Good luck figuring that out before election day; many states are severely curtailing early voting.
It's obvious that the intent behind these voter ID laws is to suppress just enough voters to tilt elections in the Republicans' favor.
