Post by: The Illusive Man on March 26, 2013, 10:21:00 pm
The ENB Series

The good: Massive graphical upgrades where compatible. When compatable the following features are expected: SSAO, SSIL, Depth Of Field, Lenz FX, Bloom, HDR, Tone Mapping, Sharpening, Vignette, Sun Rays, Shadows, Detailed Shadows and Reflection. Example:

The Bad: The following will happen to your older hardware:

Interestingly enough, it is possible to upgrade older video games to a semi-modern state via intercepting and replacing DirectX function calls. For example, the first Serious Sam.

Two things.

1. you're talking like a /g/ user

2. these mods seem like a pretty mixed bag.  some of them look quite excessive and ugly as a result.

ENB is something I'd like to use when I have a more powerful computer.

Some of the textures are quite beautiful... but they bog down frame rate.

For the people who are left speechless by TIM's Pentecostal impersonation:

Basically, ENB is a free mod series which, when combined with special mods, can make for some truly fucking beautiful textures and graphics. I mean, some verge on good painting quality. However, it bogs down frame rates and might very well chew through lower-end graphic cards.
