“The World's Most Homoerotic Homophobes Are Now Mounting a Giant Pole in Tiny Pink Shorts” I normally don’t link Yahoo news but damn. Game over man game over.
In France, there wages a (bizarre and perhaps unintentional) war among the country's anti-gay groups. In this war, there is apparently a race to be, at once, more homoerotic and more homophobic than the next anti-gay group. Today we meet La Manif Pour Tous, who decided a bunch of very fit shirtless men straddling a giant pole is the best way to flaunt their anti-gay stance. Behold the Totem of Twinks!

Fixed. The above image with the rainbow flash was photoshoped. Too bad :(

“8 nearly naked dudes out in the middle of nowhere without a woman or child in sight, yeah, nothing gay about that.” Or as everybody in the USA calls it Brokebareback mountain! If this is a troll good job. (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=666056046757879&set=pb.513639495332869.-2207520000.1375361875.&type=3&permPage=1#)
Bonus point they focus on the family and THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!1!11!
With plenary adoption for two men or two women, children will be considered, by law, born of two parents of the same sex, thus willingly deprived of a father or a mother. They will be deprived of half their origins. This is profoundly discriminatory and unjust for children [...]
The people of France must stand up for its children, its future...and humankind, made up of man and woman.

Is is hot in here?....*RRRROOOOWWWLLL*
AUGH! GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF, SPUKIKITTY!
I wonder if there's perhaps some sort of pro-gay irony thing going on? Some sort of odd bit of post-modern humor or stealth parody or something.
A bunch of gorgeous, young, fit, shirtless, pink-shorts-clad hunks of male pulchritude (and they're French!) adorn a pole and hold up a rainbow flag. How is this Anti-LGBT, again?
-
Just found out the image with the rainbow flag was Photoshopped.
-
*adjusts pants*
How is this supposed to be anti-gay again?
-
They'd be hotter if they weren't homophobes. That said, they are hot.
-
Usually, I would applaud the spirit of not letting homophobia stand in the way of fabulousness, but this is their own homophobia we're talking about.

Is it me, or are the anti-gay 'arguments' getting dumber every year?
-
Four fit blokes in pink pants around a giant...pole?
Yeah fellas, of course the rest of the world will think "damn, look how totally het and cis they are!"
-
What was that thing...about Freudian slips again?
-
No homo. :P

Ah, that explains it.
But still....sexy hunks in pink shorts riding a pole.....

What.
-
So... What point exactly where they trying to make by having four shirtless men sitting on top of each other and clinging to a pole? Is it supposed to be ironic? I'm really at a loss here.

Don't you know that a child needs a mother and a father? Not having both of them (or heaven forbid, having the other parent replaced by someone) will cause them such horrible misery.
But this only applies to gay-couples trying to raise a child. No one cares about single parents or remarrying. And if a single mother would want an abortion then the life of the fetus is what matters, not what kind of life the child might have...
-
It's a pity those hot shirtless men are assholes, unless they are trolling in which case, I need their phone numbers and to brush up on my French.....

You know that thing where straight men will tease each other by acting gay to each other?
...I don't get it either but I think this is the natural consequence of that.

It's France. Everything there has to be done in a homoerotic way, even homophobia.

Either Colbert or Stewart commented on the fact that in France the people protesting AGAINST gay marriage are the ones dancing to ABBA.
-
They also run through places shirtless and or nude.
I am confused by what they're trying to say.
I am going to guess, though, that they want to show that straight guys are better looking or something.
-
Maybe they are trying to entrap gay men into coming onto them, so they can complain about them trying to convert straight people.
That's all I can think of. :/

Good point, but I was "what"ing about the statement that children raised by gay couples will be missing half their organs. Does that mean that those kids will only have one eye/lung/kidney/etc? Does this idiot think that homosexuality is an elaborate cover for a black-market transplant ring?
-
It said "origins," not "organs." Read that statement again :P

Wow, I feel like an idiot.

That is a stupid attempt at intimidation because: men are supposed to only be aggressive and hyper masculine as an inherently positive quality, women are supposed to be passive and subservient as an inherently negative quality and anyone in between are unnatural freaks because hurp derpity derp. This is just another example of how weak people cling to strict gender roles.

Maybe they are taunting gay men? "You'll never get a piece of this!"
-
Makes me wonder if France is engaged in a nation wide Andy Kaufman style performance art piece.
-
When I first saw this I thought it they were secretly pro-gay.

When I first saw this I thought it they were secretly pro-gay.
Me, too.
That said, what is their strategy supposed to be? Confuse people? Mock gay men? There's other protests with these guys where they wear white Venetian masks & feather boas and fire off colored smoke bombs.
One of them stated they're like the male version of FEMEN...totally missing the point of all those topless, bare-boobied women.
I know it's France & there are many ways to express masculinity & femininity but this is just plain....confusing.

Maybe they are trying to "reclaim" things that are associated with gay men??
