Two good things (that go great together!)

First, I finally managed to recover the files from my old computer, and as a bonus, I shoved my old 1 TB hard drive into my new one, doubling my hard drive space. Woo!

Second, I have a three-month old ticket that I've been forgetting to handle (because I'm a moron), and I was ready to bite the bullet, but I found out this morning that the police officer who'd pulled me over, whether accidentally or deliberately, didn't enter the ticket into the court system, so I don't actually have to pay for it at all. Considering this is saving me about 500 dollars, this is a really good deal.

Got a new idea for a fanfic and a chapter of it written up.  Basically, it deals with the question of what would happen if Vegeta had been the one to defeat Cell instead of Gohan, and gotten a taste of what it was to be a hero?  I'm calling it The Prince Ascendant.  I always thought Vegeta got shafted a lot in Z, pretty much never getting an important victory of any kind, so it feels nice to give the Prince a little well-deserved limelight.

Putin used the word "genocide" to describe the Armenian genocide. Turkey is furious over this and has responded by complaining that Russia has done a few genocides as well.

...Meanwhile, despite his campaign promise Obama still refuses to refer to the Armenian genocide with that name.
