Thing is, I already have a job.  Sure, right now, I'm a part-time (paid) intern, but unless I slack off or majorly fuck something up, I'm pretty much guaranteed a spot in the company...maybe even before I graduate, if I play my cards right.  Hell, I could even end up on our company's fledgling R&D branch.  Even if I don't, I've made a good enough impression that I'll have several good work references and proper experience before I'm even done with community college.

[I say I'm a shoe-in because I'm on rather friendly terms with what amounts to the company's VP.  There's only, like, two guys above him, and that's only because they started the company.]

Our lead software engineer is back at work today, which is a plus. There's been chaos for the past week because he's the only one who could edit certain bits of code.

Also, the Big Boss told me thanks for making him look good. This pleases me greatly.

I asked my boss for a raise today. He told me he thought I had deserved one for a while now, and was planning to bring it up at the next board meeting already. My other boss, one of three, chimed in that he thought the same.

Also, my bosses are the company owners.
