As a spacehead, I think that this was an awesome idea before two hideously expensive unnecessary wars and the worst depression since the Great One skullfucked our economy to death.

I like how he said this would happen by the end of his second term.  As if the man had already won the presidential election and getting re-elected is just a foregone conclusion.

Stop building aircraft carriers.
Stop waging agressive wars of conquest against small countrys with oil.
Start funding education instead of idiocy.
Start embracing economic sustainability instead of fly-by-night, smash-and-grab, corporate insanity.
Auction off General Motors to whoever wants to buy it, and never bailout another missmanaged corporation again.
Start cleaning up the mess left by the 5 consecutive bad presidents before you.

You wont get your moonbase, but you will have laid the foundation for a better future where a moonbase can become reality.
