No real holy man would charge money for exorcisms.

$295 is outrageous, but at least he can't stab anyone over Skype.

Is that bling on his crucifix, because that could be one place that the exorbitant rates are going.

*cough*NoTrueScotsman*cough*
Seriously though, "real" holy men have done all sorts of heinous things. Charging obscene amounts of money for Magikal Sky-Daddy mumbo-jumbo over the internet is downright tame compared to, say, telling an AIDS-ravaged area that condoms are immoral.

By real, he meant "ethical".

Also, BOB LARSON? Isn't this that guy that claimed he was a former Satanist/Wiccan/Freemason/Evil Cult Overlord/etc?

Seems he moved on to a new schtick not much different than the former.

Avoids a lot of pea soup.
I am an old man, and I've seen many problems, most of which never happened.

No real holy man would charge money for exorcisms.

I'm not sure how to parse that statement. Are you saying that it's unethical to charge for exorcisms because demons don't exist and they are at best a placebo, generally useless and sometimes dangerous?

Or that there's some group of real holy men performing actual exorcisms, but only for free?

I think it's saying that, assuming demons actually exist, it would be wrong for a legitimate holy man to charge for exorcisms.

Note that Jesus never charged for them and neither did His apostles.

Also if it's a legitimate possession the body has ways of shutting that down.

See, I say this is probably actively harmful anyway.

People who believe they need an exorcism might be suffering some legitimate--and often dangerous--mental illness. Schizophrenia, for example. Or serious depression. Or maybe an eating disorder. Or maybe they're gay. They're paying a huge amount of money for a 'fix' that isn't going to work and then, believing they're all better, they go and try and live their lives as normal again while whatever is wrong with them keeps getting worse. Eventually they might do something drastic or dangerous to themselves or someone else.

It'd be a waste of $295, but I think it'd be morbidly hilarious if someone scheduled a session with him and faked a suicide, or someone breaking in and killing the caller or something like that. Bonus points if you can somehow use special effects to make it look like an actual demon comes out of your body!

Shit, I could get some fancy bangles and a cheap, plastic cross and do this shit at a fraction of this fucker's rate.  I'll undercut his arse Walmart-style: $50 an hour.

That's no good. You have to overcut his arse instead. Because if your exorcisms are more expensive, then obviously it's because they're of superiour quality. After all, who in their right mind would buy some cheap amateur shite when the very sanctity of your immortal soul is at stake?

Hmm, this is true.  Maybe $500 an hour?  After all, a man has to eat.
